About RAHI

Valentine’s Day starts HERE

Each of us, Russian immigrants, in search of freedom and personal growth, made a choice to come to America. This why we all, the Russian immigrants, met here, in the US. We were welcomed by a hospitable and caring country. We obtained the freedom we have been longing for. We have now the opportunities to better our lives and, most of all, we acquired a bright future for our children. We all deeply respect America. We all love this country. We developed patriotic feelings toward this great land. However, parallel to these feelings, we the Russian newcomers, believe that we should also think about our rich ethnic culture. While living a simple and harsh life, we found our pleasures in cultural development and education. The Russian American Horizons, Inc. (RAHI) helps the Russian newcomers to settle in the new country and blend with the local community. RAHI is involved in finding jobs for its people, organizes large gatherings, exhibits, fund-raising events, etc. The 2006 New Year Eve celebration at the Stamford Sheraton was attended by 430 guests. RAHI acquired a number of local sponsors. RAHI also works closely with other social groups in the area (Spanish, Indian, Chinese, Polish, etc.)

RAHI pursues the following goals: to help people improve their quality of life, unite the community in building a bridge between the Russian and American cultures, while preserving the ethnic origins of both. For that, RAHI introduces cultural events (concerts, festivals, exhibits, etc., promote talents within the community, works with children, youth and senior citizens, promote volunteerism, develops a web site RussianHorizons-CT.com, and many other activities.

The Board and volunteers of RAHI always remember that they work for one goal:

Bridging Cultures!
